mountain of golden meadows and forests

zlatar

Zlatar was named after the medieval gold mines, but also after the autumn golden color of its meadows and forests. Stands out among the other mountains of Serbia because it is still non-commercialized with the original nature, which is why it is one of the most attractive unexplored destinations in Serbia, both for those who want a quiet holiday in the countryside as well as for lovers of active vacation.

You will get to know the nature of Zlatar by walking through its meadows and forests, breathing fresh mountain air, visiting lakes and caves, eating local cheese, honey and organically produced buckwheat, photographing authentic landscapes and griffon vultures (lat. Gyps fulvus).

If you are interest in cultural sights, you can visit numerous religious buildings, cultural monuments, museums, sights and events, you will get to know the diversity and harmony of Zlatar’s culture, and you will also be able to enjoy the gastronomic specialties of the Zlatar region.

You can ski during the winter, use well-maintained bicycle and hiking trails or swim in the lakes in the summer or play indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball and handball in a balloon-hall . If none of the above is a challenge big enough for you, for the bravest Zlatar also has the adrenaline park.
