Religious objects
At Zlatar you can visit numerous sacral buildings, such as: The monastery of Kozma and Damjan on Vodena poljana, about ten kilometers from Nova Varoš, on the road to Sjenica. It is about 2 km away from the highest peak of Zlatar Golo Brdo. The monastery of Saints Joachim and Anna is located in the village of Rutošima, in the hamlet of Rebelj, and in old Vlach is popularly known as the Church of Janja. Although a little further away, the Mileseva Monastery is certainly an unavoidable spiritual and cultural-historical landmark. The most famous fresco in Mileseva is the White Angel. You can also visit the Dubnica Monastery in the village of Božetići on the slopes of the Javor Mountain, the Monastery Banja, as well as the Temple of Christ’s birth. The wooden churches under the protection of the state stand out for their authenticity as monuments of exceptional importance: The wooden church in Kućani, Thehe wooden church in Radijevići. The Church of the Annunciation in Štitkovo, together with the typical houses of this area it is under the protection of the state and represents a part of the ethno village of exceptional value. The Church of the Holy Trinity in Nova Varoš is located in the center of Nova Varoš. The mosque in Nova Varoš is located in the center of the city.
Sights
The ethno village Štitkovo is an example of a living ethno village with oldest types of houses and farm buildings from the old Vlach region, a primitive way of cattle breeding and tool production. Kalipolje is the place where the battle between Serbian and Turkish armies took place in 1876. Duke Petar Bojović Square is the former Marshal Tito Square where a monument to a military leader from the Balkan Wars and the First World War, was unveiled in 1997. Kajmakamija is a building of the old Turkish district administration located in the main street in Nova Varoš. Today is a library and a local museum. The House of Culture with stage is located in the center of Nova Varoš.

Gastronomy
Zlatar cheese, produced traditionally, is one of the most famous and highest quality indigenous dairy products in Serbia. The fact that it has been a product of protected geographical origin since 2013 also speaks of how good it is. Organic buckwheat is also grown in the area of Zlatar, so you will be able to try specialties from it, and don’t miss to try buckwheat pie, a kind of specialty made from buckwheat and Zlatar cheese. And as the production of Zlatar honey has a long tradition, you will have a chance to try it and boost your immune system with honey-based products.
